What to Expect During

Our Worship Service

Arrival   When you arrive, if you have children, one of the greeters will offer to take you to one of the KidZone areas to register them and get them settled.  (The last Sunday of the month, however, first grade and up join us in the sanctuary.)  Once a month (the third Sunday) the youth have a special service in the youth center during the morning worship time.

Come on in and take a seat. Let us know that you’ve come by filling out a yellow card (located on the backs of the seats in front of you), then dropping it into the offering plate or turning it in at the visitor center after the service. We all fill these out each week to record our attendance so that we know who has been coming, or who has been missing so we can be sure they are ok.

Singing   We enjoy a time of singing.  We put the words up on a screen for everyone to follow along.  Feel free to sing along or just enjoy.  We sing songs of worship to celebrate who God is and what He has done for us.  Most of the music is contemporary, and sometimes we add some songs or hymns that have been around for a while.

Offering   There is a time of offering.  We like to give back to God just a portion of what He gives to us.  We are excited about what God has done for us and we give to Him to further enable ministry to happen.

Message   Our senior pastor gives a message to teach, encourage, and inspire us.  It helps us to know more about God and how we are to live in response to the wonderful love we’ve been shown.

Prayer   We have a time of prayer, which is us talking to God.  There is an opportunity right after the message to respond by praying in your seat or coming up to have someone pray with you. We also have a corporate prayer time where we pray for the needs of our congregation. Those who have a special need or want someone to pray with them go up front, and people who have been trained to help in this area will come up and pray with them. If you would like someone to pray with you, feel free to come up at either time. We have leaders praying and additional music while this is happening.

Closing   We sing a few more songs, hear a few of the announcements, and it’s time to go.  If this is your first time, stop by the welcome desk to get a gift (usually chocolate chip cookies!) and introduce yourself, and then go pick up children from their classes if you brought them.  We’re glad you are here, and hope to see you again!

Thanks for Coming!   Make sure you introduce yourself to a greeter at the end of the service, and turn in your yellow information card if you have not—you’ll get a free box of homemade chocolate chip cookies as a thank you for coming!

If you brought children, go up to the KidZone area where you dropped them off and they should be ready for you to pick them up.
