Paige Runion

Paige Runion, Administrator at Agape Children's Center

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Before I knew the plans God had for me, the staff at Agape Children's Center ministered to my family from 1993-1996. Our two smallest children bloomed and blossomed in the care of the staff. As we daily dropped off and picked up the girls, we were touched in so many ways. My then-flexible schedule allowed me to be the "room-mother" type, spending a lot of time at Agape. The staff used to tease me saying, "You should just get a job here!" In time, we found a home at Dayspring Church and became involved in family ministry. We grew so much spiritually that God challenged me to change careers, to leave the security I had and allow Him to make a way for me. Seeing the hand of God at work in all the little details necessary for that change to occur, I followed the path He placed me on. The Agape staff may have been a little more than surprised in 1996 when I did "get a job here"... accepting the position as their "boss", the administrator at Agape Children's Center.

My background in restaurant management and management training exposed me to everything I would need - leadership, plumbing, office management, equipment maintenance, finances and budgets, state regulations in food service, labor laws, and worker's compensation, marketing and public relations, supervision and staff development. My enthusiasm and delight in supporting others discovering their own "purpose and passion" soon took flight as well.

God has used all the circumstances of my life to give me a heart for ministry here at Agape. Having survived (barely!) as a single working Mom, remarrying after a divorce, being part of a blended family in remarriage, and persisting through many of life's hard lessons, I have a heart for the families at Agape because we have some shared experiences.  I wouldn't have the same Mother's heart had I not been through those things.

Scott, my husband of 21 years, and I continue to marvel at God's goodness and grace to us. Our four adult daughters are in varying stages of college, planning marriage and we became grandparents in May of 2008.

No matter where you've been, what's happened in your life, and what consequences you are living with, God has a plan for you too! That plan will give you a different perspective on your pain and loss and will fill the empty spaces in your heart that He created to be filled only by Him!
